I’m running to help transform our district into one that puts the learning needs of all students first and works in genuine partnership with school communities.

  • Protecting public dollars:

Accountability begins at the top. I'll be sure tax dollars are spent helping students, not squandered due to poor oversight. I'll work with other School Board directors to be sure we're funding from the classroom up. This is the only way to meet the learning needs of all our students, and it's not what's happening now. Too much money is being withheld from our classrooms.
  • Meeting the learning needs of all students:

I'll push for many pathways to success with compelling programs that engage students all the way through high school. We need effective remediation, acceleration, and support for students with unmet learning needs. We must give teachers the tools and latitude they need to effectively teach all students.
  • Equal access to 21st century programs:

We need to use current knowledge and technology to improve teaching and assessment. We also need to develop innovative programs to help students prepare for the chosen careers of their future.
  • Genuine community collaboration:

I’ll be sure school communities are involved in making important decisions that impact our schools and children.

If we work together we can make Seattle a world-class school district!
